Saturday, October 9 2004 20:15 Hrs (IST)

Indore: Film star Nana Patekar won the silver medal in the rifle prone (big bore) 300 meter event in the 14th G V Mavlankar shooting championship at the BSF's (Border Security Force) Elite Reoti Shooting Ranges in Indore today (Oct 9, 2004).

The star of 'Ab Tak Chhappan' film, which deals with police encounters of under world gangsters, finished second with a score of 514 out of 600 and proved his seriousness for his latest obsession.

Patekar had to settle for the silver after ace shooter and Olympian Naresh Kumar of Chattisgarh won the gold with a fine score of 554 to prove he is still the best.

Patekar, who has already qualified to take part in the ongoing 48th National Shooting Championship in the 50 meter rifle prone position and 300 meter big bore events, can now hope to win a medal in the big event.
