Key accused in Godhra carnage Salim Jarda escapes

Ahmedabad: In a setback to Special Investigating Team (SIT) probing the Godhra train carnage, a key accused and a member of 'core group', Salim Jarda jumped bail and escaped in Godhra.

Jarda, who was arrested in Rajasthan in June, was on a temporary bail for two days granted by Special POTA (Prevention of Terrorism Act) court for attending a religious ceremony at his home in Godhra town, a senior SIT official told in Ahmedabad.
