Pak invites senior BJP leader Advani for a visit
Monday, October 18 2004 13:56 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Pakistan today (Oct 18, 2004) invited senior BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) leader and former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani to visit the country.

The invitation was extended by Pakistan High Commissioner Aziz Ahmad Khan when he called on Advani in New Delhi, sources said.

The former Deputy Prime Minister had already been informally invited by Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri when he had met him here last month.

Advani, who had agreed in-principle to travel to the country, was waiting for a formal invitation, the sources said.

He is expected to undertake the visit shortly but the dates for the programme are yet to be worked out, sources close to Advani said.
