We greatly value our relations with India: B'desh

Dhaka: Asserting that it greatly values its ties with India, Bangladesh has said both the Governments should create a congenial atmosphere for improving relations in various spheres.

"We greatly value our relations with India and its our conviction that both the Governments must work to create a congenial atmosphere to optimise the potentials by creating synergy at various levels," Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan told the official BSS news agency in Dhaka.

Khan said the main focus of Bangladesh's foreign policy is on its neighbours - India and Myanmar.

"We have been working with all seriousness at various structured levels of relationship with India," he said emphasising that Dhaka was working with New Delhi not only bilaterally but also through regional and sub-regional forums like SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation), BIMST-EC and ACD (Asian Co-operation Dialogue).
