IIM-B with Hughes to offer programmes for IT Pros Tuesday, October 19 2004 17:04 Hrs (IST)

Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore, today (Oct 19, 2004) announced that it is entering into a partnership with Hughes Escorts Communication Ltd, (HECL) to offer a host of long term programme to working executives over the Hughes' DIRECWAY Global Education Platform.
These specialised programmes cater to the needs of a broad spectrum of industries. In the coming years, IIM-B will also target international markets such as Sri Lanka, Singapore and parts of Middle East, a joint statement said.
The next few months will witness the launch of two long term programmes, Advanced General Management Programme (AGMP) for IT and ITeS professionals, and Executive General Management Programme, it said.
Both these on-campus programmes will be beamed live instantaneously to 47 DIRECWAY Global Education classrooms located at 35 cities across India, for the benefit of geographically dispersed participants, it was stated.
AGMP is targeted at the working software, BPO and technology professionals with minimum two years of experience and will be delivered directly to the executives within their organisations using Hughes DIRECWAY "Direct-to-Corporate" model or through the Hughes DIRECWAY retail channel spread across 35 cities in India.
EGMP is targeted at various working executives with minimum of five years of work experience who would like to upgrade themselves and acquire general management skills, the statement added.
