Chennai: The personnel of Tamil Nadu Special Task Force (STF) would be felicitated by the State Government at a function in Chennai on Oct 27 for eliminating sandalwood smuggler Veerappan.

All the 752 STF personnel would be given orders of promotion to their respective next grade, a cash award of Rs three lakh and documents of a housing plot each by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa at the function, an official press release said in Chennai today (Oct 20, 2004).

Jayalalithaa had yesterday (Oct 19, 2004) announced these rewards to the STF personnel for killing the elusive brigand in Dharmapuri district of the State on Monday night (Oct 18, 2004).
