People's War blow up railway station in Jharkhand

Medininagar (Jharkhand): The banned People's War activists blew up the Latehar railway station in Latehar district in the wee hours today (Oct 21, 2004).

Superintendent of Police M S Bhatia said around hundred ultras surrounded the station and asked railway employees on duty and passengers waiting for trains to vacate the station and exploded dynamites.

There was no casualty, he said.

Though there was no damage to the tracks, train services in the Dhanbad division of East Central Railway were affected, he said.
