State Cabinet to decide on naxal's demand: CM Reddy Thursday, October 21 2004 14:48 Hrs (IST)
Hyderabad:
The contentious issues between Andhra Pradesh Government and naxalites would be decided by the State Cabinet, which is likely to meet by the end of this month.
"The demands put forth by the naxals during the four-day truce talks in Hyderabad with the State Government would be discussed threadbare in the cabinet before taking any decision on the subject," Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy told reporters today (Oct 21, 2004).
Reddy asked the naxals to appreciate democracy and resolve their problems within the ambit of Constitution.
The naxalites, who returned to Nalamalla forest yesterday (Oct 20, 2004) after a ten-day long stay in the capital where they held peace talks with the Government, said the talks were fruitful and the Government had admitted to the problems identified by them.
Talking to reporters yesterday before entering the forests, Maoist leader K Ramakrishna said the problems and demands presented to the Government would be discussed in the party.
