Batting maestro back in action: Sachin fit to play

Mumbai: Sachin Tendulkar was today (Oct 23, 2004) declared fit to play the third Test against Australia commencing in Nagpur on October 26. "I am very happy to play in the Nagpur Test," the master batsman told reporters in Mumbai after passing the fitness test conducted by the team physio Andrew Leipus.

Tendulkar, who missed the first two Tests against Australia, will board a plane to Nagpur tomorrow (Oct 24, 2004).

The batting maestro has been out of cricketing action since mid-August due to tennis elbow.
