Widow of Veerappan to sue TN Govt for laying 'trap' Saturday, October 23 2004 11:24 Hrs (IST)
Salem:
Four days after India's most wanted bandit Veerappan was shot dead by the Special Task Forces (STF), his wife Muthulakshmi is planning to sue the Tamil Nadu Government for killing him by laying a "trap".
"The Tamil Nadu Special Task Force had laid a meticulously planned trap at Papparapatti village and killed him," she said at the graveyard at Moolakkadu, where Veerappan was buried on Wednesday (Oct 20, 2004).
Muthulakshmi said the STF did not allow her to live in peace in the last three years.
The widow of the brigand, who is believed to have his fabulous wealth stashed in secret caves and tree holes deep inside a forest, said she was in a bad financial condition and sought the Tamil Nadu Government's assistance in bringing up her daughters.
The elder daughter, 14-year-old Vidya Rani, is keen to be a doctor, while Prabha, 11, wants to join the IAS, she said. As for herself, Muthulakshmi wants to start a small business to earn her livelihood.
