Hyderabad: BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) President L K Advani today (Oct 24, 2004) cautioned the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government at the Centre on the moves by Andhra Pradesh Government in tackling naxalite problem and said, "It is a self defeating and retrograde approach."

Addressing the party workers after inaugurating the new building of state BJP unit in Hyderabad, Advani said the Naxalite problem can be solved only through a coordination efforts by affected States.

"It was a matter of internal security of the country and any move by individual States would be dangerous," the BJP President said.
