NCP MLAs authorise Pawar to decide on Cong proposal

Mumbai: The newly elected NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) MLAs today (Oct 25, 2004) authorised party president Sharad Pawar to take a decision regarding formation of next Government in Maharashtra and electing the new legislature wing leader. The meeting of the NCP legislators was held in Mumbai at the party office to discuss the proposal given by Congress to resolve the Chief Ministership issue.

However, the MLAs said they would not discuss the proposal and authorised Pawar to take the appropriate decision, party spokesperson Vasant Chavan told reporters.
