'We are least concerned about BJP': Ashok Singhal Monday, October 25 2004 16:45 Hrs (IST)
Ahmedabad:
Giving a clear signal of its unhappiness with BJP's (Bharatiya Janata Party) present position and ideological stand, senior Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Ashok Singhal today (Oct 25, 2004) said they "were least concerned about BJP".
Singhal made this statement when reporters asked him about VHP's relations with BJP on the issue of Hindutva at the Swaminarayan Temple in Vadtal, about 60 kms from Ahmedabad.
Another VHP leader Giriraj Kishore attributed BJP's disastrous performance in the Lok Sabha and Maharashtra Assembly elections to "party deviating from the core issue of Hindutva".
Commenting on BJP's political position after its poor show in Maharashtra Assembly polls, senior VHP leader Acharya Giriraj Kishore said, "They have changed their ideology and that is the reason for their loss in the recent elections. Only their leaders can say more on the reasons."
"All parties are using vote bank politics and even they (BJP) are no better," the VHP leader said.
Top Sangh Parivar leaders are attending orientation in Ahmedabad camp wherein around 700 people from various parts of the country are participating.
