Shun violence, join in nation-building: RSS to naxals
Thursday, October 28 2004 16:30 Hrs (IST)

Ranchi: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief, K S Sudarshan, today (Oct 28, 2004) asked Left-wing extremists to shun violence and participate in nation-building instead of wasting resources in procuring weapons and killing innocent people.

Addressing a programme organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Janjatiya Bal Sangam in Ranchi, Sudarshan said that the naxalites should not obstruct promotion of education which is the path to a nation's development.

Recalling how activists of the Vidya Bharati had encountered threats while setting up schools in remote villages, he said that they should also take inspiration from helping their own people in villages and consider them as the children of 'Bharat Mata'.

Claiming that there was no revolutionary change in education after independence, Sudarshan said that it was the duty of all Governments to provide peaceful surroundings to schools.
