Friday, October 29 2004 16:44 Hrs (IST)

Lahore: On Friday (October 29, 2004) after Jummah prayer, Hizb-ut-Tahrir in Pakistan will be holding four simultaneous marches in Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Peshawar.

In Lahore the march will be from Muslim Masjid Lahori Gate to Shahalmi Chowk. In Karachi from Lal Masjid, Nazimabad to Khilafat Chowk. In Rawalpindi from Ghulamullah Masjid to Fawara Chowk. In Peshawar from Mahabat Masjid to Yaad Gar Chowk.

Speakers will include Naveed Butt (Spokesman of Hizb-ut-Tahirir in Pakistan), Dr Ismail Sheikh, Mahub Shah, Dr Abdul Qayyum, Saad Jagranvi and Taimur Butt.

A press release from Hizb-ut-Tahrir states that for the last 18 months the entire world has witnessed the brutal invasion of Iraq by America and its allies. The invasion, which was based on a blatant lie has led to the killing of tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have been injured and left homeless.

It further states that the entire infrastructure of the country (except the oil fields) has been destroyed.

The speeches at the March will highlight the alleged "brutal invasion of Iraq" and the alleged "silence, treachery and complicity of the Muslim rulers", in particular that of Pervez Musharraf who, the release says, has fallen over backwards to help the American occupiers.
