Indira Gandhi's death anniversary: Nation pays homage Sunday, October 31 2004 11:10 Hrs (IST)

Top leaders including Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi paid homage to late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 20th death anniversary at her samadhi-Shakti Sthal in New Delhi today (Oct 31, 2004).
Floral tributes were paid amid devotional songs, as excerpts from Gandhi's speeches were played-back.
Among the leaders who were present were Home Minister Shivraj Patil, External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh, Finance Minister P Chidambaram, Law Minister H R Bharadwaj, Delhi Lt Governor B L Joshi and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who was on a wheelchair following an injury to her leg.
Also present were Planning Commission deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia, senior Congress leaders Motilal Vohra, and Buta Singh, newcomer MP and Gandhi's grandson, Rahul Gandhi, Sandeep Dikshit and Delhi Education and Tourism Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely.
