Ved Marwah assumes charge as the Governor of Bihar

Patna: Jharkhand Governor Ved Marwah today (Nov 1, 2004) assumed charge as the Governor of Bihar.

Marwah was given the additional charge of Bihar following the resignation of M Rama Jois on Thursday (Oct 28, 2004) last amid reports that he was being removed.

Marwah was administered the oath at a simple ceremony by the acting Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, Nagendra Rai.

Conspicuous by their absence were Chief Minister Rabri Devi and Leader of the Opposition Upendra Prasad Kushwaha.

The State Government was represented by Bihar Ministers Shakuni Choudhry, Abdul Bari Sidiqui, Awadh Bihari Choudhry, Rama Devi and Shyam Rajak.

Bihar Vidhan Parishad chairman, Jabir Hussain, former Assembly Speaker Radhanandan Jha and a host of Government officials were present at the oath taking ceremony.
