New Delhi: Former Union Minister Buta Singh was today (Nov 2, 2004) appointed Governor of Bihar and another politician from Maharashtra Pratibha Patil was named Governor of Rajasthan.

A Rashtrapati Bhawan announcement said the appointments will take effect from the date they assume charge of their respective office.
