Vajpayee has some 'ways' to resolve JK issue Tuesday, November 2 2004 10:33 Hrs (IST)
Raipur:
Rejecting the recent proposal of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee yesterday (Nov 1, 2004) said only talks can resolve the issues between the two countries.
"We are not agreeable to the proposal of Musharraf," Vajpayee told reporters at the Mana airport in Rapiur adding, "The Government of India has already clarified its stand on the issue."
The talks between both the countries should be carried forward as the bilateral issue between the two nations could be resolved only through dialogue, he said adding that there was no need to go to the media to resolve any issue between the two countries.
Asked to comment on the performance of Manmohan Singh Government at the Centre, the former Prime Minister said it should be given some time before commenting.
Vajpayee also expressed satisfaction over the performance of Raman Singh Government in Chhattisgarh but said the people of the State are the best judges to evaluate that.
Vajpayee was here to inaugurate the weeklong fourth foundation day celebration of the State.
Later, Vajpayee left for New Delhi and was seen off at the airport by Chief Minister Raman Singh and others.
