Tuesday, November 9 2004 16:23 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Justice Nauvdip Kumar Singh, Chief Justice of Kerala High Court, has been transferred as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court.

Justice Singh has been asked to assume charge of the office of the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court on or before November 22, an official release said in New Delhi today (Nov 9, 2004).

Transfer of Justice Singh was part of a major reshuffle in higher judiciary, which was recommended to the Government by the collegium of Supreme Court Judges headed by Chief Justice of India R C Lahoti sometime back.

Justice B Subhasan Reddy, who as Chief Justice of Madras High Court was facing a hostile Bar after he tried to rein them in with a Code of Ethics, is likely to succeed Justice Singh as the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court, official sources said.
