New Delhi: President A P J Abdul Kalam today wished people happiness, joy and prosperity on the occasion of Deepawali.

"On the auspicious occasion of Deepawali, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to all my people in India and abroad," Kalam said in his message.

"On this Deepawali, let all of us strive to spread the lamp of love to our fellow citizens and spend time to share our happiness with the less fortunate, the poor, the lonely and the needy in our society. May the coming year bring happiness, joy and prosperity to all."
