Daughter was thrown out of the house, says Uma Thursday, November 11 2004 21:00 Hrs (IST)
New Delhi:
Showing no signs of remorse or regret, suspended BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) leader Uma Bharati tonight (Nov 11, 2004) asserted that she has not done anything to invite the charge of indiscipline by her conduct yesterday at the party meeting and bluntly told the leadership that her "direction" cannot be changed by the action against her.
While a letter she wrote to BJP President L K Advani justified her conduct, she made some emotional remarks while releasing it to media-persons recalling her close relationship with Advani and senior leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
"I tried to find out the element of indiscipline in yesterday's action but I could not get any," she said in the letter which she would be handing over to Advani.
"Whatever was to happen has happened yesterday. It was perhaps beyond our control.... Daughter was thrown out of house on the day of Dhan Teras."
