Mr. Ravi S. Candadai, Consul for Public Affairs
A resident of Texas, Mr. Candadai was born in Hyderabad, India. He joined the United States Foreign Service in 1991. He began his diplomatic career in Monterrey, Mexico, and has served in London and Cairo. Mr. Candadai subsequently served as Deputy Consul General in Santiago, Chile and recently completed a tour in Islamabad, Pakistan as the Deputy Economic Counselor where he oversaw trade, WTO and IPR issues.

Mr. Candadai holds an MBA in Marketing from Idaho State University, a BA in Business Administration from Weber State University, Utah, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad. As a doctoral student in Marketing at the University of Arizona, Tucson, he taught undergraduate courses in Marketing and Management.

Mr. Candadai began his professional career in the Seattle telecommunications industry where he held executive positions in marketing and sales. Immediately prior to joining the Foreign Service, Mr. Candadai was the Chairman of the business school at North Seattle Community College in Seattle, Washington.

Presently Mr Candadai is working as the US Consulate for Public Affairs in Chennai.

Mr. Candadai speaks Urdu, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Arabic and Spanish. As a high school and college undergraduate, he studied Sanskrit.

Mr. Candadai is married and has four children.
