Pak intruder shot dead, two ultras surrender in JK Monday, November 15 2004 16:53 Hrs (IST)

A Pakistani intruder was shot dead while two militants of pro-Pakistan Hizbul Mujahideen laid down their arms in Jammu and Kashmir, where two Bangladeshi nationals were arrested since last night, official sources said today (Nov 15, 2004).
The Pakistani intruder was killed near Indo-Pak border in Kathua district last night after he refused to yield to the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel who asked him to surrender, the sources said.
A self-styled sector commander of Hizbul Mujahideen Nazir Ahmad alias Abu Sapra surrendered in Lohie Malhar area of Kathua district today.
He handed over an AK rifle, four magazines, seven grenades, one radio set and some explosive material to the troops, they said.
Another militant identified as Nazir Ahmad, hailing from Awoora village, surrendered to police along with an AK assault rifle, five magazines, 100 rounds, two hand grenades and a wireless set.
Ahmad was active in the district for the last couple of years and his surrender had dealt a severe blow to the outfit in the border district of North Kashmir.
The surrender of the two militants comes close on the heels of surrender of 47 top ultras in their biggest ever enmass surrender after announcement of the rehabilitation policy by Jammu and Kashmir.
Two Bangladeshi nationals were arrested by BSF personnel near international border in R S Pura sector of Jammu when they were moving near a forward post last evening, the sources said. The duo was trying to cross over to Pakistan.
