I am unaware of Sankararaman's press meet: Padma Wednesday, November 17 2004 19:54 Hrs (IST)
Kancheepuram:
The widow of the temple official, who was murdered on September 3, today (Nov 17, 2004) said she had no personal knowledge about her husband planning to hold a press meet regarding certain alleged irregularities in the Kanchi Mutt and NRI (Non-Resident Indian) accounts.
Padma, the wife of Sankararaman, who was murdered in the Varadaraja Perumal temple complex, said that she was told by "somebody" from a Tamil magazine that her husband had sent a letter (dated August 30, 2004) to them saying that he was planning to hold a press meet "regarding some irregularities in the Kanchi Mutt and NRI accounts."
"I had no personal knowledge about this. Police also said there was a letter in the bag (of Sankararaman) but did not show it to me," Padma said.
Police had recovered the bag from the temple complex.
