De-induction of troops from Jammu and Kashmir begins Wednesday, November 17 2004 11:43 Hrs (IST)

The de-induction of Army from Jammu and Kashmir began this morning (Nov 17, 2004) with first column of troops moving out from South Kashmir's Anantnag district for redeployment in other parts of the country, official sources said in Srinagar.
"The first column of troops moved out of Anantnag at 8.00 hrs (IST). We cannot give any further details on this de-induction process at the moment as it is a matter of military operations," Brigadier General of Srinagar-based 15 Corps of the Army, Kataria said.
