Jr Seer to seek court permission to meet Jayendra Thursday, November 18 2004 10:27 Hrs (IST)

The Junior Sankaracharya of Kanchi Mutt, Vijayendra Saraswathi, will seek the permission of a court in Kancheepuram to meet the senior Seer, Jayendra Saraswathi, when the latter is produced before the court today (Nov 18, 2004).
According to Mutt officials, the Advocate of the Mutt will move an application before the Kancheepuram first class judicial magistrate, G Uttamarjan, to this effect.
Meanwhile, police have made elaborate security arrangements around the court premises, as the senior Pontiff is to be produced before the court in connection with the hearing of the prosecution application, seeking police custody of the Seer, who has been arrested in a murder case and is now lodged in Vellore prison.
The Sankaracharya is likely to be produced in court in the afternoon.
