TDP is supporting NDA only from outside: Naidu Saturday, November 20 2004 20:35 Hrs (IST)
Chennai:
Telugu Desam party (TDP) is not in the NDA (National Democratic Alliance), but only supporting it from outside, TDP president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said in Chennai today (Nov 20, 2004).
"TDP would have floor coordination with the NDA in Parliament," Naidu, who arrived from Hyderabad to attend the wedding reception of Superstar Rajnikant's daughter Ishwarya with actor Dhanush, told reporters at the airport in Chennai.
He refused to comment on the talks between the Andhra Pradesh Government and Naxalites.
On BJP's (Bharatiya Janata Party) going back to its Hindutva agenda, he said TDP was a secular party and would maintain its secular character.
On the arrest of Kanchi Seer Jayendra Saraswathi, he said, "Law will take its own course. But there are some observations on the way he was arrested. I do not want to make any comment on this," he said.
