PM hints at no immediate plans to reshuffle cabinet
Sunday, November 21 2004 11:46 Hrs (IST)

Imphal: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today (Nov 21, 2004) indicated that he had no immediate plans to reshuffle his Council of Ministers.

"You will hear about it when it takes place," he told reporters when asked whether he planned to reshuffle his Ministry.

The question came in the wake of speculation that Singh may undertake the exercise before the winter session of Parliament beginning on Dec 1, 2004 to fill the vacancies created by the resignation of JMM (Jharkand Mukti Morcha) leader Sibu Soren and election of K Rehman Khan as Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman.

Reports had it that Congress leader Satish Sharma, who is said to be close to Sonia Gandhi, might find a berth in the Ministry.
