The State unit of BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) also submitted a memorandum to Governor Pratibha Patil, condemning the way the Seer was treated at the hands of the Tamil Nadu Police.

Claiming that the Seer's arrest has hurt sentiments of crores of Hindus in the country, VHP leaders, including Acharya Dharmendra, and Sadhus from the State staged a demonstration near the Statue Circle in Jaipur before moving on to Delhi where BJP and VHP activists staged dharna outside the Parliament.

The State BJP president and MP Lalit Kishore Chaturvedi led his party members to Rajbhavan to submit the memorandum.

The Bajrang Dal and VHP workers also organised a 'Maha Arti' on the occasion. The Shiv Sena also staged a rally and demanded the Seer's immediate release while appealing to the people to make the all "India Bandh" a success.
