VHP will not demand withdrawal of case against Seer
Sunday, November 21 2004 19:28 Hrs (IST)

Ranchi: The VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) would not demand withdrawal of the murder case against the jailed Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi, but he should be released without any more delay, VHP leader Praveen Togadia said.

''We don't oppose the case. But the Shankaracharya was arrested without any probe...Which we believe is a deep rooted conspiracy hatched by anti-Hindu forces,'' Togadia said when asked whether the VHP's next course of action would be to demand withdrawal of the case against the Seer.

Asked if the VHP is considering launching a Hindu political party, Togadia said that the organisation would support any political party walking the Hindutva path.
