Lawyers held in ISI conspiracy; Bar warns of stir Tuesday, November 23 2004 18:31 Hrs (IST)

The city crime branch has arrested two advocates for their alleged role in an 'ISI conspiracy' case and lawyers today (Nov 23, 2004) threatened to 'abstain from work' to protest against the arrests.
The two advocates were arrested last night (Nov 22, 2004) for their alleged role in the case. A revolver and cartridges were recovered from one of the advocates during raids on their residences, police said.
The city crime branch, said that it is investigating the ISI conspiracy case and has recently arrested a Maulana from Hyderabad for his alleged role in the case.
Maulana Naziruddin is accused of spreading a network of splinter terrorist groups across the country and also of sending youths for training to Bosnia and Chechnya.
The advocates would be produced before the court later today (Nov 23, 2004).
Meanwhile, the President of High Court Bar Association Y Oza told reporters that lawyers would abstain from work to protest against the arrest of the two advocates.
