Sonia re-allocates Congmen; Antony in Karnataka

New Delhi: Former Kerala Chief Minister and CWC (Congress Working Committee) member A K Antony has been asked to look after Karnataka affairs temporarily in a minor re-allocation of work by the Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

AICC (All India Congress Committee) general secretary Ambika Soni, who is currently in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Congress president's office, will also take care of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a press release said.

General Secretary Margaret Alva, in charge of Maharashtra, Goa, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Lakshadweep, has been asked to take charge of Chhattisgarh.

The minor re-allocation of work was effected as general secretary Vilasrao Deshmukh took over as Maharashtra Chief Minister and General Secretary Salman Khurshid was appointed president of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee.
