Kidnapping case: Police raid LJP MLA's house again Wednesday, November 24 2004 10:44 Hrs (IST)

Police once again raided the residence of the incarcerated Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) MLA Rajan Tiwari in Patna in connection with the abduction of two National Hydel Power Corporation (NHPC) technocrats, who remain traceless for the sixth day today (Nov 24, 2004), police said.
Police said a joint team of Patna and Vaishali police raided Tiwary's house in State capital late last night and picked up two persons for interrogation.
Nothing incriminating was detected during the raid, police said and claimed that they had obtained vital clues about the kidnapping of the NHPC technocrats.
Police had on Sunday searched the ancestral house of Tiwari under his Govindganj Assembly constituency. Tiwari is lodged in judicial custody at the high-security Beur jail at present in connection with the CPM (Communist Party of India-Marxist) MLA Ajit Sarkar murder case.
NHPC general manager (Projects) T Mandal and chief engineer K K Singh were taken hostage by some unidentified criminals while the two were going to Bettiah to attend a meeting with the district magistrate of West Champaran on Friday (Nov 19, 2004).
The abductors of the NHPC officials have demanded a ransom of Rs 5 crore each for there safe release.
The district authorities had yesterday raided the Beur and Phulwarisarif jails in Patna in connection with a kidnapping case.
The police have so far taken around 12 persons including a mukhiya G N Singh for interrogation.
