Sankaraman case: One more accused remanded to custody

Kancheepuram: The First Class Judicial Magistrate-1, G Uttamaraja, today (Nov 25, 2004) remanded Anil Kumar, one of the accused in the Sep 3, 2004 Sankararaman murder case, to two days police custody.

Anil Kumar was produced before the Magistrate by Additional Deputy Superintendent of Police, S P Sakthivel, who is investigating the case.

Sakthivel informed the Magistrate that there was evidence that Anil Kumar had helped to provide vehicles to other accused in the case.

Anil Kumar was arrested in Chennai yesterday (Nov 25, 2004), Sakthivel told the court and sought five days custody to question him.

However, the court remanded him from 12.30 hrs (IST) this afternoon to 5.30 hrs (IST) tomorrow (Nov 26, 2004).
