Charge against Seer is clear case of concoction: VHP Thursday, November 25 2004 19:10 Hrs (IST)
Chennai:
The deposition of two key accused in the Sankararaman Murder case at a Kancheepuram court yesterday (Nov 24, 2004) has made it 'very clear' that the charge against the Kanchi seer, Jayendra Saraswathi, was "concocted," VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) said today (Nov 25, 2004).
"It is a clear case of concoction, damaging the name of the mutt in general and the Seer in particular," VHP Secretary General Praveen Togadia said in a statement in Chennai.
He said the Tamil Nadu Government should tender an open apology for filing a case against the Seer and take action against officials, "involved in the creation of false evidence against the Seer."
