We will defeat the demon power in Bihar: BJP
Friday, November 26 2004 15:58 Hrs (IST)

Ranchi: The foremost task before BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) now is to do well in the forthcoming crucial Assembly Elections in Bihar, Jharkhand and Haryana, party President L K Advani said in Ranchi today (Nov 26, 2004).

"We have identified some immediate tasks before us. The foremost among them is to do well in the three crucial elections ahead," he said in his concluding remarks at the party's three-day National Executive in Ranchi.

The BJP chief appealed to party men in Jharkhand to strive utmost to win a fresh mandate. "I have already said what our objective in Haryana is," Advani said adding, "It is Bihar where the biggest battle lies. As I said in my opening remarks, Bihar stands hungry for a change".

Repeating his remarks on opening day of party meet, he said, "The Asuri Shakti (demon power) which is ruling Bihar for the past 15 years can be defeated, and we'll defeat it."

Referring to the "fragility" of the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government, he said when something is fragile, the owners or handlers of that fragile entity themselves paste the notice - 'Fragile, handle with care'.

"In the case of the UPA, the contradictions are so basic and irreconcilable that its own constituents are handling this fragile coalition with anything but care," he said and added that "2005 is also the year when we can expect the UPA Government to get severely tested".

Advani said the "ruinous path" that UPA has chosen for the nation "will certainly alienate" this Government from the masses. "BJP will perform its duty as an effective and constructive Opposition," he added.
