Kanchi SP transferred; SIT Chief continues

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Government last night (Nov 25, 2004) effected some transfers and postings of top police officials, including that of K Premkumar, Superintendent of Police, Cuddalore district, to Kancheepuram in the same rank and said that he would continue to head the Special Investigation Team in the Kanchi case.

Premkumar would replace S Davidson Devasirvatham. S Paneerselvam, Commandant of the regimental centre at Avadi in Chennai would be the Superintendent of Police, Cuddalore district, an official press release said.

A X Alexander, Director General of Police (DGP), Crime and Chairman of Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services recruitment board, has been transferred and posted as DGP, Intelligence, Chennai, replacing S V Venkatakrishnan, posted as Additional Director General of Police, Crime, Chennai, the release said.

B P Nailwal, DGP and Chairman-cum-Managing director of the Tamil Nadu Housing Corporation, will hold additional charge of the post of the Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services recruitment board, in place of Alexander.

P Sivanandi, Commandant, Tamil Nadu Special Police, IV battalion, Kovaipudur, Coimbatore, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, CID, Chennai, in place of A Kandasamy, transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, special branch, CID, Chennai, the release said.
