Kancheepuram: Fourteen persons have deposed before a Magistrate Court in Uthiramerur near Kancheepuram in connection with the Sankararaman murder case.

Those who deposed before the Magistrate, Ramajeyam, on November 23 and 24 included Sankararaman's wife, his son and daughter and suspended Head Constable Kannan and Mutt photographer Ramu.

The depositions were made in-camera, police sources said today (Nov 26, 2004).

Sankararaman was an official of the Varadaraja Perumal temple in Kancheepuram. He was murdered inside the temple on September 3, 2004.

Meanwhile, the Cuddalore Superintendent of Police, Premkumar, who was transferred late night (Nov 25) to Kancheepuram, took charge this morning.
