BJP attacks UPA Govt for Sibu Soren's re-induction Saturday, November 27 2004 16:05 Hrs (IST)
New Delhi:
BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) today (Nov 27, 2004) attacked the re-induction of JMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha) chief Sibu Soren in the Union Cabinet saying Manmohan Singh Government's "moral fabric" was a "complete suspect".
"This only reaffirms that being tainted is no disqualification for being inducted in this Government," BJP general secretary and spokesman Arun Jaitley told in New Delhi.
"The moral fabric of this Government is a complete suspect," he said.
Asked about BJP's strategy in view of the development, Jaitley said the party had already made its stand clear on the "tainted" ministers' issue.
He hoped the Parliament will function normally during the upcoming session and its proceedings will not be affected by this development.
Party sources indicated that BJP was unlikely to disturb the Parliamentary proceedings.
BJP and its NDA (National Democratic Alliance) allies had vociferously raised the issue of "tainted" ministers in Parliament in the Budget Session after an arrest warrant was issued against Soren in a 20-year-old murder case.
The protests had disrupted Parliamentary proceedings for most part of the session and House had to be adjourned prematurely.
