Counsels not to move SC seeking bail for Seer

Vellore: The counsels of the arrested Seer of Kanchi Jayendra Saraswathi, today (Nov 28, 2004) ruled out moving the Supreme Court at this stage, to seek bail for him.

The Advocates, K S Dinakar, I Subramaniam and A Arun, who met the Seer at the Central Prison in Vellore for over an hour, told reporters later that they had informed him about the bail applications moved in the Madras High Court and a sessions court at Chennai on the two cases faced by him.

Both applications would come up for hearing tomorrow (Nov 29, 2004), they said.

They also said that they found the Shankaracharya in good health.
