Media reports about interrogation are wrong: Mutt Sunday, November 28 2004 15:13 Hrs (IST)
Kancheepuram:
Describing as untrue, reports in a section of the media in connection with the interrogation of Kanchi Seer Jayendra Saraswathi, the Kanchi Mutt has warned that it would be forced to take legal action if they continued to carry such reports.
"This irresponsible reporting is causing irreparable damage to the reputation of the Acharya and also hurting the devotees' sentiments", the mutt's manager, Sundaresa Iyer told reporters in Kancheepuram yesterday (Nov 27, 2004).
Iyer said a section of press had been giving 'entirely false' news that some part or parts of the interrogation proceedings were leaked out to them.
"There was no way any part of the interrogation of the Acharya by police during custody could ever have been revealed," he asserted.
He further added that the Mutt was extending cent per cent cooperation to the police regarding the investigation. The Mutt employees even now continued to be questioned repeatedly, he said.
