Godhra inquiry panel to re-inspect S6 coach Monday, November 29 2004 14:43 Hrs (IST)
Ahmedabad:
The Godhra Riots Inquiry Commission is scheduled to revisit the Godhra town and also re-inspect the S-6 coach of the Sabarmati Express on December 13, Commission sources said in Ahmedabad today (Nov 29, 2004).
The Commission comprising Justice G T Nanavati and Justice K G Shah would make a one-day visit, the sources said. This will be the third visit of the Commission to Godhra.
The Commission decided to revisit the town and re-inspect the S-6 coach after going through the affidavits of several of the victims of the train carnage.
This visit by the Commission assumes significance following the recent visit of the U C Banerji Technical Committee of the Railways that was formed to probe into several expects of the fire on the S-6 coach.
Fifty-nine Karsevaks returning from Ayodhya were killed in the fire inside the coach that had sparked off the post-Godhra communal riots in 2002.
