VHP chief Singhal denied permission to meet Seer

Vellore: VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) president Ashok Singhal was today (Dec 1, 2004) denied permission to meet the Kanchi Seer, Jayendra Saraswathi, who has been arrested in connection with the Sankararaman murder case and lodged in the central prison in Vellore.

Police said the prison officials had given permission to Singhal to meet the Seer yesterday (Nov 30, 2004), but he did not turn up.

Singhal arrived in Chennai late last night and reached Vellore only this morning, they said.
