No evidence of Osama Bin Laden in Kashmir: IAF
Thursday, December 2 2004 22:24 Hrs (IST) - World Time

Bangalore: The Indian Air Force (IAF) does not have evidence to suggest that Al Qaeda mastermind Osama Bin Laden is in Jammu and Kashmir, a top IAF official said today (Dec 2, 2004).

"I have read some of the reports. Right now, the IAF has no idea where Osama Bin Laden is. When I hear about it officially, I will share it with you," IAF Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal S P Tyagi told reporters here this evening.

"And certainly, there is no evidence to suggest he is in Kashmir," the Air Chief designate said, when asked about recent reports in the American media that IAF had sighted Bin Laden and alerted the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation).
