Bangalore: The Dalai Lama today (Dec 2, 2004) described as 'very sad', the arrest of Kanchi Shankaracharya, Jayendra Saraswathi, but indicated that the law should take its own course in the matter.

"Very sad", the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader said in response to a reporter's query after a function in Bangalore.
