65 Private Member bills introduced in Parliament Friday, December 3 2004 19:25 Hrs (IST) - World Time

A record number of 65 Private Member bills were introduced in the two Houses of Parliament today (Dec 3, 2004).
Thirty-two bills were introduced in Lok Sabha and 33 in Rajya Sabha.
Among the notable bills introduced in the Rajya Sabha were Recovery of Debts due to Banks and Financial Institutions Bill, 2003, The Constitution Amendment Bill 2003 and 2004 and Neglected, Exploited and Under Privileged Children (Welfare) Bill, 2004.
The Prohibition of Publication or Telecast of Vulgar, Obscene and Surrogate Advertisements and Re-Mix Songs by Print and Electronic Media Bill, and The Destitute, Poor and Infirm Citizens (Maintenance Rehabilitation and other Welfare Measures) Bill were among those introduced in Rajya Sabha.
Unemployment Allowance Bill to Educated Unemployed, Uniform Marriage and Divorce Bill and Reservation of Vacancies for SCs/STs in Posts and Services under the Control of the Government of India were among the bills introduced in the Lok Sabha.
