Police jeep blown up in landmine blast in Jharkhand

Jamshedpur: A police jeep was blown up in a landmine blast by Communist Party of India (Maoist) ultras in a dense forest at Dogadoha in East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand today (Dec 7, 2004).

A Circle Inspector (Ghatsila range), a driver and two persons were in the jeep, police said but did not specify the number of casualties.

A fierce encounter is reported to be on between the ultras and the CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) in the area, which falls under Ghorabanda police station.
