Chennai: Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharati today (Dec 7, 2004) said that she has come to Chennai to meet the Kanchi Seer Jayendra Saraswathi and to 'enquire his well being'.

'There is no politics in it', she told reporters at the central railway station in Chennai soon after her arrival by the Tamil Nadu Express.

The suspended BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) leader said she wanted to meet both theAcharayas and her programme has been fixed by the local leaders of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).

She expressed the hope that the Tamil Nadu Government would allow her to meet the Seer at the prison in Vellore 'at least for a minute'.
