Junior Seer's brother appears before probe team Saturday, December 11 2004 22:05 Hrs (IST) - World Time

For the second day today, Raghu, brother of Vijayendra Saraswathi, Junior Sankaracharya of the Kanchi Mutt, appeared before the special police team investigating the Sankararaman murder case.
He came in a car of the Kanchi Mutt's lawyer K Shanmugham along with Vaidhyanathan, a lawyer and close associate of the Mutt at 7.20 hrs (IST), police said.
Meanwhile, the Chennai unit of the investigation team brought one Umapathi of Chennai, relative of Appu, a key accused in the Sankararaman murder case, for questioning, police said. After questioning, he was allowed to go, police added.
The police team also questioned two persons belonging to Kancheepuram in connection with CDs and cassettes supplied to the Mutt.
Others subjected to questioning were three land brokers from Madurai who had dealings with the Mutt and two organisers of the Jan Kalyan, a social organisation founded by the Kanchi Seer, Jayendra Saraswathi.
